Since the list is down

Maybe we should use this tribe to communicate?
I've been feeling bereft not being able to have closure on this year's amb amb tour of duty. Not just the camp practicalities (honestly I don't even want to know about the costs yet, since my job just fell out from under me) but just being able to muse on the whole thing with everyone.

For instance, after that whole day of packing up and then waiting and all the stress and strain of trying to get everything squared away in the heat of the day, we had our final hugs goodbye. As I watched the ambulance drive away into the dust, I just burst out into tears. It was a good year, and I'm so thankful I was a part of it.
I love the Ambience Ambulance!!!

I want to write more when I have more time, but I do want to briefly say that camping with the Ambulance was one of the most wonderful things about the most wonderful Burning Man I've had. In every way, being with the Ambulance felt like being home. Going out on the night of the Burn and knowing the Ambulance was going to be there at the other end was an incredible psychological and emotional anchor, and sunrise on that morning was one of the peak moments of my life. Everything was golden, gold light everywhere. And there was chai!

    The Ambulance is Good.

Yay for the Ambulance being fixed in time for saturday night!

It was so fucking great to be able to step up and head the setup crew that night and feel confident that we had it all pretty well covered without having to have Bob there to make sure. We didn't get the small sign lit, and a friend just happened by who helped with the atari, but otherwise it was quite smooth.

Ahhh, so that explains that bounced email.

    _________

    Subject: thanks for the memories

I'm back in Sydney where there is storm rolling in off the Tasman Sea.
The rain water is streaming down Beach Street. White water is crashing
half way up the beach. And I'm still processing my experiences from last
week in the Black Rock Desert.

You'll find a few shots of AmbAmb and AmbAmbers in these sets:

Mmmmm. Fond memories of the Amb on Thursday and Friday nights. Thank you.

I think I'm going to break my own record of being in the least pictures yet.

I really wish I had pics of Bob, Alex and I battening down the hatches in the wednesday windstorm...But who wants to break out their camera then?

      Oh well.

Since not everyone on the camp list is on tribe, Bob is working on making a yahoo group mailing list for the camp in the interim. We'll have to each sign up individually, but at least there will be something so we don't lose the collective ambient afterglow in the humdrum mayhem of daily life.
    yay.
